This set is composed of an antique coin of the Constantius II period (337-361 AD) of 22mm in diameter in its protective hermetic capsule and two high definition prints mounted under a museum quality mat in a wooden frame (white oak effect). All protected by a glass guaranteeing protection against dust, splashes and contacts.

Constantius II, born on August 7, 317 in Sirmium in Serbia, is a Christian Roman emperor of the Lower Empire.
He is the son of the reigning emperor, Constantine the Great, who had usurped the imperial title in 306, recognized Augustus and legitimized in 310, and Fausta, his second wife.
He is the third son of the emperor, after Crispus, son of Minervina, Constantine II, son of Fausta. A fourth son, Constant I, also son of Fausta, completes the siblings in 320. These children receive an education entrusted to Christian tutors.
Constantius was raised on November 8, 324 to the rank of Caesar, as were his two brothers, Constans I, Constantine II and their cousins.
On the death of Constantine in 337, the three brothers, fearing a division between five heirs, were acclaimed Emperors and divided the Empire between them on September 9, 337, after having massacred almost all of their family. Constantius II obtains the eastern part of the Empire.
In 340, Constantine II was killed by Constans I, who placed himself at the head of the Roman West, before being assassinated in turn, in 350, by one of his generals, Magnentius, who usurped the imperial title. Constantius II defeated him in 353. Two years later, he was the undisputed ruler of the Roman world.
Constantius sends his last surviving relative, Gallus' younger brother Julian, to serve as Caesar in Gaul in 355 and learns, in 360, that Julian, after liberating Gaul, has usurped the title of Augustus. He refuses to recognize the usurpation but, ill, must interrupt his military march to Mopsuestia in Cilicia, where he dies on November 3, 361, after appointing Julien, once his rival, as his successor.
